Thank You for 25 Years

by Steve Wachs, CFP®

“You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going.  What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope.” Thomas Merton

Twenty-five years ago, Legacy Consulting Group was launched. The above quote captures perfectly the thoughts Roger and I had as we stepped forward in faith. We certainly did not know where it was going and had to embrace the challenges. With a handful of clients, we let the world know we existed with the following announcement.

Our phones rang off the hook and we couldn’t keep up with the number of new clients – well, that’s not exactly the case. However, by taking care of our existing clients, we were introduced to new ones and the firm grew to over 150 families we currently serve.

Roger recently wrote about the importance of gratitude. We have been blessed and are grateful for many things. Let me highlight three of them. First is our respective spouses, Susan and Deb. They were there from the beginning and believed in us more than we may have believed in ourselves. Their love and encouragement kept us going through the difficult times.

Second, we are grateful for the different team members that have worked with us through the years. We are surrounded by an excellent team – see all their smiling faces – Jennifer, Kim, Jen, Kelly and Matt (he was out sick on picture day).

Finally, we are grateful for each of you who have trusted us enough to let us be part of your lives. We’ve shared in the joys of marriage, births of children/grandchildren, sale of businesses, and retirements. We were also there for the difficult times of deaths, divorces, disappointments, and illnesses. It may be in challenging times when we do our best work advising with wisdom and humility.

Thanks to each of you for letting us walk along beside you in your journey!
